Trakehner mare Sequin II

Sequin II is a 17.1h  10yr. Trakehner mare bred by Herbert Asboeck.

Her sire is the legendary Trakehner stallion Abdullah. Under his rider Conrad Homfeld ,he won a host of major competitions in a sensational show jumping career , amongst which was inter alia team gold and individual silver medals at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles

Sequine II was purchased by Ingrid Christodoulou of Highfields Stud in the West Midlands. We were at the Trakehner Breeders Fraternity grading show in 2004 at Addington Manor when we first saw this mare and were with Ingrid during the mare's successful grading.

Sequine was at the time successfully show jumping and had accumulated c£250 BSJA winnings in just 6 short months before picking up an injury that was to end her jumping career.

She was put into the Highfields herd as a result of this injury. We were naturally delighted to be given first offer for Sequin II when Mrs Christodoulou made the decision to scale back her breeding activities in favour of concentrating upon the jumping career of her highly successful stallion Sir Graditz and her up and coming stallion Lessen.

Sequine II  foaled in early June 2006 and she was transferred to the Greenacres herd after weaning in October 2006.
